Yesterday’s biggest news was Eva Longoria Parker and her husband Tony’s alleged divorce.  It is now official (CNN 1).  Even though it seems like forever, they’ve only been married for three years.  Apparently he cheated on her.  Here are a few things that I’ve gathered that are of interest.

1. Tony Parker was 25 when he got married.  I’m 26 and I’m just now at the point where I’m 100% ready for marriage.  It’s doubtful that a 25 year old professional athlete (from France) would be ready for a lifetime of commitment.

2. Longoria claims here that they were together for 7 years (CNN2).  If you do the math, that’s 2003.  The problem is, her marraige to her first husband lasted from 2002-2004.  Does this mean she cheated on her first husband with Tony?  If so, she really can’t complain when the same thing happened to her.  Note, by the way, that Parker was 21 and she was 28.  Again, red flags all around here.

3. According to the CNN article above

[S]he found “hundreds of text messages” from a woman on Parker’s phone, and that this woman was revealed to be the wife of one of Parker’s teammates. 

The “Desperate Housewives” star will also talk about Parker’s infidelity early on in their marriage with another woman, one he kept in touch with via Facebook.

Third strike. Early on? How early could this have been? They’ve only been married three years!

Why do people presume that if a man cheats he won’t do it again.  Is it possible? Yes.  But, if anything, there should be a presumption that he will do it again.  People that mess up need to feel some consequence for their actions.  Why do you think people rob banks until they get caught?  It’s the same old story, just as Jenny Sanford what happened when she forgave Mark for having an affair.  That’s why I don’t believe in second chances (and nor should you).

As a man, I can tell you that many (dare I say most) expect for woman to forgive our indiscretions.  If women really want a man to be committed, they need to let them know early on that they will not tolerate cheating.  And if it happens, send a message by walking out the door.

Evan and Tony don’t have any kids together and they are both young, successful, and attractive.  There’s no reason why she should have stayed this long in the first place.

There are some things that you shouldn’t have to pay for, such as sex (at least directly). Dating advice happens to be another one of those things. Note that I’m not talking about relationship advice because there are some serious, sensitive issues that should be left to experts (ie how do deal with impotency). I’m talking about dating “experts” like in the movie Hitch.

Paying for dating advice is dumb for a couple of reasons. 1) You can get the info from a friend, family member, or coworker for free (or someone on the Internet) 2) They’re just going to tell you something based on their personal experience (even Dr. Phil is divorced) 3) You already know the answers.

All men of dating age know what women are looking for: men that are attractive, confident, and won’t smother them. A relationship coach is only going to tell you to work on one of these three areas.

Attractive: You cant help your looks, but you can at least go to the gym.

Confidence: I don’t think you can teach confidence. You don’t have Alex Hitchens there with you to tell you what to do. Confidence only comes from an improved self imagine. This means you need to get more muscles, more degrees, more power, or more money.

Smothering: Nothing makes you man up more than having a chance with a woman and slipping into the “friend zone.” We’ve all been there. Learn from your mistakes and don’t be such a wuss next time.

So there’s the basics on the law of attraction. Don’t believe me? Just talk to your friends about what women want. Just don’t waste your time and money talking to a dating “expert.”

Meet Zac Goldsmith, age 35.  He was recently elected to parliament.   He’s also the son of a billionaire. And he’s an adulterer.  And his wife filed for divorce.  You know what that means.  Yeah the Manogamy Movement’s favorite letter: L (liability).  Like my mother, the philosopher, says, “You lay, you pay.”  She’s usually talking about getting someone pregnant before marriage, but the phrase certainly applies to people that have affairs.  Some people speculate that Goldsmith will have to fork out 150M pounds.  Mrs. Goldsmith may not get this much, but she’s going to be broken off nonetheless.

Zac got married nearly 11 years ago when he was 24.  He obviously wasn’t ready for marriage.  Goldsmith’s alleged flame was with Alice Rothschild, a 26-year-old “banking dynasty heiress.”  The crappy thing is that Alice’s sister Kate is married to Goldsmith’s brother Ben.  This means that she’s his sister-in-law.  Sucks to be you buddy, especially around the holidays (how awkward).

The Formerly Happy Couple

That’s honestly a hard question.  Meet Jonas Bergstrom, an admittedly handsome young man that is was engaged to Princess Madeleine of Sweden (who is also very attractive).  Jonas allegedly had an affair with a troll looking college student (doesn’t that seem to be the story with everyone) and now the wedding is called off.

What an idiot.   What makes matters worse is that he apparently had a one night stand.  If you are engaged to a princess that you’ve been dating for 8 years, you mean to tell me that you are willing to throw all of that away for ONE NIGHT of action?  I hope it was worth it.

I realize that people make mistakes, but after 8 years of being faithful, fighting off women should be pretty easy.  Having a one night stand is a rookie movie bro.  Something isn’t adding up.  You don’t have one night stands with unattractive women unless 1) it’s not really a one-night stand and you’ve cheated before or 2) you weren’t happy in the relationship to begin with.  In either case, it’s best for the princess that she didn’t marry this sleezeball.

The Other Woman

You know, creating this blog is extremely frustrating because I always hear more bad than good about relationships.  But this story right here ranks up with Tiger Woods.  Larry King is 76 years old and still hasn’t learned a lesson about monogamy.   He has allegedly cheated on his wife Shawn Southwick with her sister Shannon Engermann for 5 years now.  According to the article, he was buying her cars and expensive gifts.

Now I must ask a couple of questions here.  First, why would you marry a man that has been married 7 times before?  I don’t know how most of these relationships ended, but I believe he cheated in some of these previous relationships as well.  Second, why is this 76 year old man still playing the field.  If he did cheat and lose a wife in the past, he’d presumably learn his lesson.  No so with this guy.  Third, what kind of family do you have if your sister would sleep with your husband?  Better yet, what kind of husband do you have if he would sleep with your sister?  Out of all the women that Larry King could (unfortunately) have…

I really feel bad for children out there that don’t have a monogamous father in the household.  I can’t think of anything else that would keep you grounded, especially with all this mess going on in the media.

I swear this Josyln James chick doesn’t know when to stop.  Just last week, she released a website releasing texts that Tiger sent, now she’s stripping in Atlanta while Tiger will be right up the street in Augusta during the Masters.  I don’t know when (or better yet IF), this story will end.

I know you’ve got a lot of money, but Tiger Woods, it must suck to be you.

Today one of of Tiger’s attention-craving mistresses, Joslyn James, launched a website called sextingjoslynjames.com.  I tried to visit the website, but it probably won’t load for now due to the heavy web traffic.  Until then, check out this Dscriber.  Tiger’s a naughty boy.

According to the Chicago Tribune, James, also known as Veronica Siwik-Daniels, using the website to generate publicity for herself.  The website says:

“Veronica is looking forward to the next chapter in her exciting career. Fans are encouraged to keep checking back here for future plans and sometimes controversial announcements,” the site states.

It’ll be interested to see how the Master’s Tournament treats him as they like to keep a low profile.

Tiger you put how much work into perfecting your game?  You also have to put in work to perfect a relationship.  Discipline is something you should know all too well.

Meet Melinda Dennehy. Dennehy is a 41 year old high school teacher that likes to send naked pics to 15 year old boys. Forget the fact that she is married, sending naked pics is never a good idea, especially when you are an adult that should know better. We all know that there’s no such thing as sexting between two people. It ALWAYS gets out and in this case it circulated aroud the school. What else do you expect from a 15 year old male with a picture of a naked English teacher?

Apparently she also solicited him for sex and kissed him in the mouth.

Dennehy is looking at 7 years upon conviction.

I don’t know much about British stars, so this is actually the first time I’ve heard of Cheryl and Ashley Cole. Cheryl is a singer and hosts the X-Factor, which is the show that Simon Cowell is bringing to America and Ashley is a soccer player.   Apparently I’m alone because there are thousands of articles on this story

We know from John Terry how British soccer players get down.  Allegedly Ashley had an overseas affair with a Seattle City government worker.  He also pulled the token sexting move (when will people learn?)

I don’t know if this his his only instance of cheating, but I do know that Cheryl is pissed.  She called things off via text message.  She’s even removing the “Mrs. C.” tattoo from her neck.

Oh yeah…there’s no pre-nuptial agreement either.

This story just leaked a few days ago, but more details will arrive soon.  Cheryl is set to provide details with talk host Jonathan Ross on March 21.
