When will men learn.  Meet Judge Ernest H. Woods III. He is the Superior Court Chief Judge for the Mountain Judicial Circuit in Georgia.  I don’t know if he is married, but I do know that he is willing to lose his job and respect in the legal community for a piece of tail.  Woods recently “retired” from his post after a probe into messages that he was sending to a female defendant before his court.

Basically a Tara Elizabeth Black and a guy that she was involved with were before his court.  The guy’s attorney basically blackmailed the judge with 33 pages of Facebook messages that were sent between Woods and Black.  Speaking of Facebook, let’s take a minute to meet Tara Black (her profile is still up and if you do the math you know it’s her because it says she graduated in 92 and the article has her at 35).

Defendant

According to her Facebook profile, Black is single.  Her about me says

I am simply a woman who has made some bad choices in the past and if you judge me for that then you need to get your heart right because we all have things in our lives that are less than perfect. I am waiting to find my soul mate and am living by a quote from Marilyn Monroe: “I am selfish, impatient & a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control & at times hard to handle. But if you can’t handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don’t deserve me at my best!” I have three children, Meaghan 17, Devin 15 and Dillon 14 that I love more than life itself! I am SO proud of my kids. I love having fun! I love being myself! It has taken me awhile to come to the point where I can be me and be happy with it but I have decided that I am going to be me despite what anybody thinks or says and those that don’t like me because of it are the ones with the problem not me. I am going to love life, have fun and be happy despite circumstances or sacrifices

Apparently Judge Wood liked what he saw because he decided to

1. Go to her page.

2. Start up a bullshit conversation about knowing someone that needed a haircut and saw that she worked at a salon.  In the words of Ed Lover, that deserves a C’Mon Son.  That’s weaker than the “I’m new in town, maybe you could show me around line.”

3. The judge said that he could not discuss the case of her co-defendant, but somehow felt at liberty to help Black out

He advised her on the strategy of how and when to respond in court and how to plead and said he was discussing the matter with the DA on her behalf. He signed an order on June 23, 2009, allowing her to be released on her own recognizance so she wouldn’t have to post a cash bond. He also told her he negotiated a “deferred prosecution” agreement with the DA, and maneuvered to “buy you some time” to get the money together to pay the debt, and said he would sign a dismissal once the money was paid. He advised her not to talk to anyone about the arrangement. “I can help you more behind the scenes so long as very few people know it,” he said..

4.  Met up with her for lunch and later he told her in an e-mail, “I really enjoyed lunch today, and I look forward to getting to know you better … maybe we can have coffee soon?”  To which she replied: “OK. I am going to be really brave and ask you a favor.” She continued that she needed money to get her “own place again” and asked him to loan her $700.

5. He answered that he couldn’t come up with the entire $700, but offered $450 and asked if that would help. She answered, “OMG! Yes.”

Moral of the story is that you can appreciate beauty from the sideline.  Shut your mouth and keep your thoughts to yourself.

*P.S. I know there’s slim pickings in South Georgia, but do you really have to lose your post over a woman with 3 grown kids.  He must have popped those kids straight out of HS.
