It’s hard to answer anything to the contrary.  Daily Mail writer Bel Mooney wrote a piece today about how all of the recent scandals (nearly all of them involving men cheating on women), have caused some to doubt whether monogamy still exists.

But it’s hard not to believe that every time a famous person is seen to cheat and still keep his marriage intact, we unconsciously become a little more accepting of adultery  -  a little less swift to make judgments.

I try to search for what people are saying about “monogamy” everyday on Twitter.  Without exception, I see plenty of posts from women questioning whether monogamy still exists.  I respond to them and tell them that it does and there are still people out there fighting for it.

But honestly, I don’t blame them.  It seems like that’s all you see and hear.  There have been at least 12 major scandals in the past year.  That’s an average of one per month.  And it seems like they are happening more frequently given technological slip-ups.

I really do worry about our generation.  I grew up during the Monica Lewinsky scandal.  I can only imagine what it’s like to be an adolescent right now.

The ONLY way we are going to restore faith in monogamy is if we REEXPECT faithfulness and commitment.  That’s why I created the Manogamy Movement.
