UK

I was checking my feed last night and saw an article about how a guy named Jon Kuhrt in the United Kingdom has started a Facebook group dedicated to taking down billboards from the internet company Marital Affairs.  The group has gone from about 600 people to over 2500 in less than 24 hours.  The wall and discussion pages are full of pissed off people.  And I’ve never seen anything more beautiful in my life.

At what point are Americans going to get on the bandwagon? Ashley Madison has billboards, print, radio, Internet, and TV ads (they even managed to air a Superbowl commercial in TX last year).  At what point do we say enough is enough?  The Manogamy Movement is picking up a lot of steam, but this should have been done a LONG time ago.

I fully support Jon and sent him and e-mail to see if we can work together somehow.  I can certainly use his man/womanpower.  Moreover, I can use the fact that he has people that are straight up gangster.  These people are calling the Advertising Standards Authority and trying to get these billboards taken down.

The interesting thing is that the billboard is NOWHERE near as racy as Ashley Madison advertisements.  The one in Times Square featured a woman in a bedroom about to perform oral sex with the tagline “Life’s Short, Have an Affair.”  And where was the outrage from this country? SMH.

AM Billboard

Update: After getting 3500 people involved, the three Jon’s (yup men are finally taking a stand) got the billboards taken down. Now, they’re trying to take down the company altogether.  Man I wish we had that kind of passion here in the U.S.
